The type of listener we may associate with different genres if music tends to differ enormously; compare your average audience seen at a classical recital with that of a Metallica concert. The contrast, from personal experience, on the surface at least, is vast. But are these widely varied styles of music really that incongruent? And their respective audiences really so different?
